iPhone 5 Rumor Roundup

Possible leaked iPhone 5 design

There are a lot of rumors being thrown around for what the next iPhone (iPhone 5) will include.
Here is a list of some of the more likely features which may appear in the iPhone 5.

Larger Screen
There has been many rumors on the iPhone 5 getting a larger screen. Traditionally the iPhone has sported a 3.5” screen and is reportedly rumored to be shipping with an increased 4” screen. This would be great for the consumer, who can complain about a larger screen? It’s been longer overdue for an increase and I hope this rumor is true. For app developers the questions remains to be answered in how it will affect previous apps designed for a 3.5” screen. They could always do what they did with the iPad when using iPhone or iPod Apps.

With the increase in screen size, the iPhone 5 is also rumored to be slightly longer but will stay the same width as the iPhone 4 and 4S.

Dock Connector

Tech Crunch has “confirmed” that the new iPhone will have a 19-Pin port rather than the traditional 30-pin port that all other devices in the past have had. What will this mean for the consumer? Well this will free up space within the iPhone for Apple to pack with something else. Perhaps they could add larger and louder speakers, who knows?
Of course there are cons to this, if this is true, all previous docking stations, speakers, car charges and accessory’s may become obsolete as they may or may not be compatible with the iPhone 5, which would be a huge pain and cause a lot of anger for the consumer. Great business move, but come on Apple!

4G LTE
This one has a very good chance as Apple released the ‘The new iPad” with 4G LTE so the iPhone 5 will most certainly also be compatible. 4G LTE brings speeds of up to ten times that of 3G. AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon all have 4G LTE networks.

Other Changes
Some other changes we can expect a thinner iPhone, with a better display and a better camera and battery life as all iPhones usually receive an update in all four of those categories.

The processor of the iPhone 5 should also receive an upgrade, it’s rumored to be coming with a quad-core A6 processor which will bring killer graphics and give a better gaming experience to users.

The iPhone could also come with a new metal design, getting rid of the old glass design. There have been countless leaks and reports that the new iPhone will indeed be metal, with face-plates even being leaked.
